6月11日，第三届重庆市助人为乐道德模范潘光全、第三届重庆市敬业奉献道德模范余书华、第三届全国孝老爱亲道德模范杨德碧、第二届重庆市敬业奉献道德模范刘红廷应邀来到学院，为师生员工带来了一场感人至深的讲演报告会。
在播放道德模范事迹短片后，潘光全同志以“让穷孩子失学是一种罪过”为主题，讲述了他40年来用微薄的工资和捡废品卖来的钱资助近两百名贫困学生的感人事迹，并勉励同学们要努力学习，珍惜学习机会。余书华同志以“面对生命，决不放弃”为主题，讲述了她下班遇到溺水老人，奋不顾身地加以施救的的动人事迹，鼓励同学们要踏踏实实地学习成长，将来定有一番作为。杨德碧同志以“家有老人是福气“为主题，讲述了丈夫因车祸去世后，她数十年如一日，坚持赡养丈夫双亲的事迹，告诉同学们多多孝顺父母，尊敬老人。刘红延同志以“给人幸福最喜颜“为主题，用他几十年坚持做乡村老师的经历，告诉同学们乡村学生学习的艰辛和困难，希望育才学子不忘学生身份，刻苦学习，为理想而奋斗。
“我们举办此次活动，旨在深入贯彻党的十七届六中全会精神，通过对道德模范的学习宣传，促进社会主义核心价值体系的建设，促进我院精神文明建设，提高同学们的综合素质”，学院党工委副书记舒刚指出。
